Generation controls, without surprises.
Generate new and Explore → Discover use your fixed choices and random ranges. Coverage defaults to a material-aware draw. Details & accents get 75% for metals and 80% for foil/iridescence; quiet paper/coatings split 45% accents / 45% subject. Full and background are deliberately uncommon. Across the default material pool, the approximate mix is 57.2% accents, 35.3% subject, 5.3% full, 2.2% background. Intensity defaults to an explicit Art-directed mode, with a finish/coverage-specific range. Complexity stays 45–80, wildness 25–75, grain 8–30 and lighting 0–359°. These are generation probabilities, not collection guarantees.
Moving a slider makes that value Fixed. Select Random in range to edit the allowed bounds, or Random · full range for the entire slider domain. Changes to modes/ranges affect future draws; they do not secretly change the current image.
Reset controls immediately restores intensity 70, subject coverage, complexity 60, wildness 50, grain 22 and lighting 35°, resets shape controls from the edition seed, clears locks and restores the default generation policies. It preserves the current system, palette, material, seed and saved editions. Undo restores the previous recipe and controls together. Unlock all only opens generation choices; it does not change the current image.
A fixed composition or structural seed also fixes its art system. Randomizing or changing that system explicitly releases these dependent locks. Refine preserves the surface and numeric values; Mutate and Recombine use random ranges while keeping fixed values. A material study intentionally overrides only the material choice.
Project backups include random modes, ranges, fixed values, structural and shape anchors, display preference, archive, and discovery progress. Older projects retain their explicit ranges and previous coverage strategy. Reset controls opts into the new default strategies. Saved artwork never updates silently; newly generated artwork uses revision 3. Art-system presets in the footer change only the system, not your intensity or coverage settings.
The Current studio settings collection theme uses these controls. Other collection themes use their own fixed presets and material-family quotas. Display mode and the Interactive light toggle never randomize.
Begin with a direction.
Generate moves through unlocked art systems, palettes, compositions, and materials. Choosing an option locks it. The small padlock lets you reopen that choice. Coverage and numeric controls follow their visible Fixed / Random policies. A fixed composition or structural seed also fixes its art system.
A seed starts the work. A recipe preserves it.
Applying a seed generates a new base recipe using the current fixed choices, random ranges and lock anchors. After editing genes, refining, or recombining, save the full recipe or project to reproduce that exact edition. Its structural seed, resolved settings, genes, and renderer version all matter.
Follow a favorite.
Explore produces 16 variations. Refine retains the underlying structural seed while changing continuous shape parameters. Mutate makes stronger changes, and may introduce a new structural seed above 62% strength when structure is not locked. Recombine accepts two editions from the same system. Use checkboxes to select candidates; click artwork to inspect it. “Structure & detail” exposes component locks.
Art direction, not a beauty score.
The presets favor limited accents for strong finishes and more coverage for quieter materials. Their exact percentages are design judgments, not an empirically proven optimum. Intensity Art-directed follows the selected material and coverage; user-entered Fixed values and custom ranges are never clamped to our preferences. Even and Legacy mixes remain available. Mobiles, Geode, Florawave, Tessera, Portals and Dunes have new revision-2 construction; all original saved recipes retain their old rendering.
Refined materials, preserved editions.
Revision 3 separates foil patterns, glass-like coatings, mineral veining and luminous effects. Quiet paper and established metals remain restrained. Older revisions retain their exact rendering; Tune a copy explicitly creates an updated descendant. The material descriptions explain the intended visual signature, not a claim of physically simulated optics.
Materials are construction, not just color.
The atlas contains 48 named recipes across 8 families. New revision-2 editions use authored detail roles: inlays, selected threads, roofs, facets, jewelry and focal marks. Accents are not guessed from palette color. Subject, background and whole artwork remain available. Original v2 editions retain their earlier palette-based accent behavior; use Tune a copy to adopt the new rendering. These are stylized vector simulations—not physically accurate glass, optics, or 3D materials. Hover uses a cached tilt preview; optional Interactive light blends cached lighting views. The saved light angle controls static exports. In revisions 2 and 3, Show plain print and intensity 0 remove the coating but retain base shading. The comparison is view-only: exported artwork, recipe IDs and history remain unchanged. It does not affect existing saved originals.
Four ways to take it with you.
SVG retains vector paths and textures. PNG rasterizes the same scene at 1K, 2K, or 4K width; a card is 20% taller. Interactive HTML includes the live lighting effect without the whole editor. JSON includes metadata and an importable recipe. Collection ZIPs contain all required local files for that part, plus a full-set recipe manifest. No upload, blockchain transaction, wallet connection, or minting happens here.
A rarity label should say what it measures.
Studio, Select, Rare, and Experimental are treatment categories. Default material family weights are Paper 29%, Coated 25%, Metal 16%, Foil 10%, Iridescent 6%, Translucent 5%, Stone 7%, and Experimental 2%, divided equally between the six recipes in each family. Studio manual selections override these weights. Preset discovery themes use rounded exact family quotas. Current studio settings uses the same seeded draw policies as Generate new, with no guaranteed quotas. Collection statistics report observed counts, not financial value or globally enforced rarity.

IndexedDB is used when available, with localStorage as fallback. Browser storage can be cleared or unavailable, especially for local files or private sessions. Save project regularly. Imported 1.0 projects render with the frozen original engine; evolving an old edition creates a v2 copy and does not silently replace it. A different seed or recipe ID is not a guarantee of visual uniqueness. No automated beauty score or visual duplicate detector is claimed.

Engine details.
18 construction systems, 84 named compositions, 24 color stories, 48 material recipes, 4 coverage modes, and 12 saved continuous genes. Different systems use different subsets of component genes. A worker generates thumbnail scenes when available, and jobs fall back to the main thread with cooperative yields. Import limit: 5,000 saved editions. Generated sets: up to 1,024 editions. Large image exports are explicit, bounded ZIP parts.
